Free photo session...there's a catch! I'm a few weeks out from my grand opening of "Studio 800" and have to do a few "real" photo sessions to ensure that any potential problems are addressed before it's open to the general public. If you have any photo needs and can make it to the studio during a time below...today is your lucky day! I am offering a "no-charge" photo session to the first 10 people that contact me on my websites contact page and are able to shoot this Saturday 3/18, Sunday 3/19 after 3 pm or next week Saturday 3/25 or Sunday 3/26. I'm planning to have a grand opening of Studio 800 on Saturday, April 1st, 2017. The days itenary is still up in the air, however, I am thinking about having several models that can be shot by anyone that brings their camera. The studio is rentable so it may make sense to have potential customers come in and get a feel for the equipment and our amenities without having to pay a rental fee.

I'm also having light food and drinks for guests and I'll be there to show how the equipment operates and to explain rental fees and arrangements. Guests will be encouraged to use the equipment and also to photograph the models. It should be a phenomenal event. Feedback about this approach is welcome!

It may come as a surprise to many that a great number of successful photographers believe that they are constantly in a learning mode. Some of my personal heroes in the business have been around for many years but attribute their success with an intrinsic ability to seek to improve their knowledge and to teach others. If some of you haven't heard of Joe McNally do yourself a big favor and look him up. Joe is a phenomenally talented guy who learns by teaching others. He is a master at lighting especially using speedlights. I definitely want to follow in his footsteps.
